Expert Analysis
Andrew Herman | Prep Hoops Scout
Sheehan’s scoring numbers may not pop out but he is more than capable of scoring the basketball in many different ways. He can play both in the inside and outside game making him a tough guard for anyone. He can contest midrange shots at high rates and looks to play with his back to the basket to take advantage of mismatches. He can step out to the three-point line and thrive in the catch-and-shoot game if given the space. At 6’9″ he will look to crash the glass for offensive rebounds to use his quick recovery time to get easy putbacks.

Sheehan can play both the inside and outside effectively throughout a game making him a tough guard for most opponents. He can play with his back to the basket and use his 6’9″ size to go straight up over defenders in most situations. He has great recovery timing on missed shots in the paint with him usually being the first to come up with the ball and going right back up with it. Sheehan can even step out to the three-point and hit multiple shots from that distance within the flow of an offense making defenders have to guess how he will score every possession. On defense, he can block multiple shots within one setting before coming away with the rebound.

Sheehan is a versatile player on both sides of the floor but when it comes to the defensive end he can be a matchup nightmare for other teams. Sheehan can guard every position at a high level and has great timing at blocking shots. Sheehan will look to chase you down in transition and send your shot away. His recovery times are excellent as he can get beat off the dribble and still have time to get up and deny a shot. He blocked an impressive 56 shots this year at the power forward position.

Sheehan is a nice two-way stretch four-player that can seemingly do it all on the court. He skys in for rebounds no matter how far away they bounce off the rim. Sheehan has good timing on offensive boards and putbacks and sells the pump fake in the painted area well. He has strong arms to allow him to rip the ball away from lurking defenders. Sheehan will protect the rim at any cost being in the power forward position. He will alter almost every single shot no matter how far away he is. Although he prefers to guard down low in the paint Sheehan can switch out onto the perimeter and still play solid defense giving him the ability to guard multiple positions for his team. He can even disrupt passing lanes if you try to get a pass off near him making Sheehan a near complete defender that will only get better.
