Throughout the game, he defended the paint with consistent effort, securing multiple rebounds and keeping the ball alive offensively. Offensively, he showcased his skills inside the paint, scoring through jumpers and hook shots over his shoulders. Despite the loss to Atascocita High School, he managed to finish the game with a solid 10 points, maintaining a field goal percentage of 54 percent.

He constantly found different ways to impact the game, such as dominating the glass, scoring from all three levels, and being a willing and unselfish playmaker out of the post. Sean’s length and wingspan allow him to get to the basket at will, finish over defenders, and shoot contested jumpers. Coming off strong grassroots season this summer; Sean has been having a great year so far and will look to continue this hot streak as North Shore rides into district with a great wave of momentum off a strong and statement championship win.

Despite being down 7-3 in a pivotal game, he showcased his versatility, which I hadn’t seen before in his AAU games last year. He demonstrated his ability to handle the ball and create scoring opportunities with it. His athleticism at the rim was evident throughout my time watching him play on court 2. He also had flashes of pulling up in the mid-range over opposing bigs, which added to his offensive threat. Sean was a constant problem for opposing teams, actively blocking shots and contesting multiple shots at the rim.

Mayberry brings a frontcourt presence with mobility to extend his game beyond the paint. He is effective sealing deep position and scoring around the basket, while also showing promise with mid-range touch. His defensive motor stands out—he contests shots and competes physically inside. Adding perimeter shooting will further round out his game.

Pushing about 6’7 or taller now. Most athletic Big at the OKState Tournament. Has all the right measurements combined with elite athleticism and speed. Skills are still pretty raw, but the giving max effort and listening to his coaches are certainly there. Can rebound and push the ball up the floor. He does tend to give up the rebounding position on occasion due to his supreme athleticism. Sean catches lobs with ease and can run like a gazelle. His rim protection and scoring in the paint are pretty good as well. He can improve shooting free throws and shooting in general, as well as his post game. He can be deadly in a pick-and-roll as a lob threat as well as out-of-bounds plays at the rim. He is extremely effective at getting second-chance points through pure hustle and effort. Plays currently for the Houston Hoops Oklahoma AAU Squad.

Offensively he scores in the paint well with a nice touch around the basket even with contact. Outside the paint he displayed his shooting touch in the mid-range converting on a couple of those opportunities. If he keeps up the level of play that he showed at GASO I definitely see him greatly contributing a lot to North Shore’s basketball program this season.

Sean has already established himself as one the top prospects in the state in the talent rich 2027 class. Super skilled and polished for a young forward prospect, Sean just makes the game look so easy. Anytime he is around the rim he fluidly uses his footwork and length to score efficiently. An active rim runner he is always creating lanes for teammates to score or hit him in transition. If Sean can become a consistent stretch shooting and add power to his frame; Mayberry will be a legit Division 1 prospect.
