To the unknowing eye, the expectation would have been that Makuag dominates the paint. But the long athlete showed his shooting skills as well at The Expo.

Last year at the Sophomore ID Camp I challenged Makuag to be one of the best in the gym. He responded. This year, I did the same and once again, he stepped up to the challenge. Makuag was bouncy and athletic, and both of these things helped him repeatedly draw fouls. When he got downhill, that was really the only way to stop him. Makuag was a highlight reel in the open floor. I could even see him on the wing at the next level, as he showed that, even at a legit post height, he had 3 point range on his jumper.

Makuag had his breakout party at the Sophomore ID Camp last fall and will play it back this year at The Expo. Coaches around the midwest better have the live feed on, because this young man should be a national recruiting target. His height, wingspan, athleticism and ball skills are a flat out unique combination.

Makuag really started his rise last year at the Sophomore ID Camp. Simply put – He was EASILY one of the best in the gym that day. Makuag is long and athletic, but he doesn’t have to rely on those. He rebounds and defends like an elite post player, but he moves like and has the feet of a top notch wing. If Makuag comes to The Expo and shows out, he’d obviously continue to rise.Lewis

Makuag is just super exciting to watch. One of the best pure athletes that I’ve seen around. He can get off the ground in a hurry and finish easily and with emphasis. Makuag can finish with 1 or 2 hands and has a really quick re-jump.

Everyone should want to see Makuag at the Midwest Live. He’s one of the bounciest forwards in the state and can finish with a quickness. Makuag can protect the rim with his vertical game and leaping ability on the other end of the floor.

Makuag blew up at the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp last year and his stock has continued to rise. He’s incredibly bouncy and active around the rim. Makuag can produce highlight reel finishes above the rim. He can attack with both the cut and catch and take his man off the bounce.

I’ve been high on Makuag’s game since watching him go off at the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp. He just has so much talent and upside. Makuag used his length to protect the ball and keep space on a lefty drive to the rim early in the game. He was able to push the ball on the break and draw a foul. Makuag was active around the rim the entire night. He showed his elite athleticism when he took an alley oop of the backboard and slammed it home.

Makuag is one of the biggest throwdown threats in the state. He’s one of the bounciest forwards that you’ll see this season with the ability to get off the ground in a hurry. Makuag can flush it home with a quick step and the smallest of space.

He was absolutely lighting up the Sophomore ID camp this fall. I told Makuag “You look like one of the best in the gym. Keep proving it”. I tested him. I wanted to see how he responded. Well, Makuag started playing EVEN BETTER and going EVEN HARDER. I’m thankful for an effort and a player like that.
