Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
Powell is the most physically impressive prospect in Southwest Florida. The senior has size, high level athleticism and an improving skill set that make him very difficult to defend. Combine that with his willingness to defend, rebound and be a playmaker and you have a scholarship level player that will find a home on the hardwood or the gridiron at the college level.

The dual-sport athlete joins Barron Collier after much success while enrolled at Golden Gate. Powell has great size and strength, and can affect the game in a number of ways. He has able to guard any position on the floor and is an excellent rebounder on both ends of the court. Powell can score on all 3-levels, and can can be deadly when he gets hot from behind the arc. The transfer from Golden Gate, Powell, is settling into his new home with the Cougar’s quite nicely. The 6’4″ dual-sport athlete is a scoring machine and is a true 3-level scorer. He has the size and athleticism to attack the basket and score at the rim, but also has a tremendous 3-point shot which he shoots at a very high-rate. Defensively he can guard any position on the floor and never gives up on a play, where he had some impressive chase down blocks throughout the camp.
