Expert Analysis
Britt Wright | Prep Hoops Scout
Malm checks in at #30 rising from #62. He’s one of NorCal’s better skilled bigs with plenty of room to grow, and improve his game. He’s an excellent passer/ball mover, with vision. He sees the court from different angles, including the high and low post. He can spot up for catch corner 3’s at times. He’s improved his body, and movements to handle the contact that goes on in the paint. He’s a double, double prospect.

He’s a 6’8 prospect that has put himself squarely on the radar with his improved play. He has the tools to play inside and out on the perimeter. His length gives him presence in the paint on defense to change and block shots, his rebounding numbers are up, he’ll get tap ins and put back dunks. He’s a good passer from the high and low post areas. His 3pt shot is coming along, he runs the court. His stock could go higher.

We like the size he brings to the court, at 6’8 he has a frame to fill, he moves okay working his way around the post area for rebounds. He has work to do, but there are some tools to work. He runs the court, moves the ball. He works from the high post, with a paint jumper, he’s a wide target in the low post. We’ll see more
