Bernard, a senior forward out of Natick High School, is a versatile offensive performer that can do whatever is needed to help his team on that end of the floor. He can operate as a big decision maker with the ball in his hands, moves off the ball and knocks down shots at a high clip, and knows how to take advantage of mismatches to score at all three levels. His ability to operate as a grab and go rebounder stands out, as does his defensive versatility.

Like Gray and Vella, Bernard could probably be considered a wing because of his ability to handle it and shoot it from the perimeter. That being said, the senior is 6-foot-5 and long, so he should be cleaning up the boards and scoring in the paint at the MIAA level fairly consistently. The lefty forward does a really good job being decisive and quick when he gets the ball on reversals, making me think he can fit quite well into any team concept. He can make shots from three, but he can also extend for athletic finishes at the rim. Defensively, his size and length allows him to guard a variety of positions. Some added strength would be huge for Bernard moving forward, but he’ll be a star for Natick this year.

Bernard is a smooth operating wing who showed he could play with the ball in and out of his hands. He is a real threat from deep and if his feet are set there is a high chance he is converting from deep. I like his versatility on the offensive end. He doesn’t let the ball stick to his hands and shares the sugar. Can see him benefiting from a repeat or prep year to only bolster his stock even more.

The only returning varsity player for Natick. A long and lengthy athlete who is a do it all teammate. A great passer especially with his off hand. A great communicator on defense and creates space for his teammates to score. He plays forward/center on this team but will most likely succeed as a wing at the next level. He takes care of the basketball with his dribbling skills.

was playing his role by filling in when he was needed during crucial moments. What stood out most was his passing and unselfishness, making reads off drives to the outside for open jump shooters and finding leak-outs in transitions for easy scoring opportunities. He also rebounded the ball well at his size, made some steals at the point of attack which led to offense the other way, and even knocked down a solid catch-and-shoot three which solidified his great outing with the variety of ways he could help on the basketball floor.

Bernard made his way onto our radar last winter with a strong sophomore season at Natick and continued to stand out while playing for Team White Mamba this summer. A long and lean combo forward, Bernard showcases a versatile skillset on the offensive end of the floor. He has a smooth left-handed shooting stroke and in-the-gym range on his jumper. He does a great job of moving without the ball and utilizing screens to get himself open. As he’s gotten stronger, he’s improved off the bounce and is now a quality rim finisher. He’s a multi-positional defender with a high basketball IQ that can initiate offense on his own off of a defensive rebound. He’ll be an interesting prospect to track this winter and should be one of the top wing scorers in the MIAA.

Previous Rank: 60 (+12) Bernard, the biggest riser in this rankings update, rose 12 spots after a terrific sophomore season at Natick. A high IQ wing with a smooth offensive game, Bernard is one of the top perimeter shooters in the class. A lefty with in the gym range, he does a good job of running the floor in transition as he stays wide and gets himself set early to receive kick ahead or kick out passes. He’s started to show an understanding of how to leverage his shooting and is a crafty finisher when he gets into the paint. He doesn’t get sped up, is a willing ball mover, and never seems to force the issue. His understanding of where to be and how to read the game plays to his advantage on the defensive end of the floor. He’ll play with Team White Mamba this spring and summer.

The big lefty can really shoot it from behind the arc and is already among this class’s most consistent three-point threats. He has good positional size and a high basketball IQ which already translates to playmaking ability both as a driver and passer. On top of that, he’s a crafty finisher around the rim. His handle is tight and he’s shown to be able to create space of the bounce in tight windows. He competes on the defensive end and can cover bigs with his length and guards with his agility. He’s a willing rebounder and gives consistent effort as both an on-ball defender and weakside help shot blocker.
