Ranier has a solid ball-handling foundation and showed good awareness in the open court. He did a good job advancing the ball, recognizing space, and making good decisions before the defense got organized. I would have liked to have seen Ranier be more assertive in the half court as he should trust his preparation, attack available gaps, and make quicker decisions without forcing the action. Defensively, Ranier showed that he can pressure the ball and compete as an on-ball defender. His ability to live low, provide max effort, and ability to make a ballhandler work give him a lot of value on the defensive end of the floor.

Whipple II continues to build on a strong offseason after first catching our attention in June. A creative combo guard with the ball in his hands, he is a capable perimeter shot maker who also demonstrated the ability to create his own offense in the midrange. He is a willing passer with a versatile offensive skill set and remains a prospect to watch in the 2028 recruiting class.

The junior is a skilled scoring guard and reliable perimeter shot maker with deep range. He moves well without the basketball and has a strong understanding of how to use screens to create open looks. He also has above-average quickness and enough ball skills to serve as a secondary ball handler, giving him additional versatility in the backcourt.

Whipple’s length and shooting touch make him an intriguing perimeter prospect. The lanky guard knocked down shots from deep both off the catch and off the dribble, showing confidence in a variety of situations. He was especially effective in transition, where he ran the floor, got his feet set, and punished defenses with catch-and-shoot threes before they could get organized. His ability to shoot on the move adds another layer to his game. Defensively, his length and instincts hint at potential as a disruptive perimeter defender.
