-Monaro has just been a workhorse this summer as a wing that has often started for the Hoyas as a big due to his play-finishing ability and grit. Monaro understands the effort required to hold down a starting position in the frontcourt and has made the most of his opportunity by simply outworking his matchup at both ends of the floor. He plays within himself at the offensive end of the floor and unselfishly handles whatever task (screening, playing help defense, taking charges, etc) is given to him by the coaching staff. Want to see what the skill level is like as a pick n pop shooter and ballhandler as he usually is cutting to the rim instead of generating his own offense by driving the basketball.

-Monaro has played his way into increased time with the Hoyas this season, even starting for the team in both games after playing sparingly in his junior season. The versatile W/F tweener simply outworks his opponent on the glass, beating his man to either close out defensive possessions or create another possession for his team on the offensive end. His timing on rolls and cuts to the rim has improved and he’s beginning to understand how to position himself for the easiest possible finishing angles. His penchant for winning 50/50 balls by being first to the floor and sacrificing his body to step in to take charges should catch the eye of local small college coaches looking to find a team-first guy.

Rafa Monaro Rafa Monaro 6'4" | SF Georgetown Prep | 2026 State MD is a guard wing hybrid who competes as hard as anyone. Rafa defends well and does a great job on the glass. Rafa gets his hands on a lot of passes and does a good job defending inside when he’s guarding drivers. Rafa can knock down open looks from three and does a great job making the right pass. Rafa is the high IQ “glue guy” that can fit with any team.
