Gibson, a senior wing out of Winchendon in Massachusetts, has taken New England by storm and proven to be one of the top transfers into the region this season. One of the surprises this winter in AA has been the success of Winchendon, who is in 3rd place in the standings at 13-4 and has taken on the identity of Gibson. A plus athlete, Gibson has the ability to operate both on and off the ball, making high IQ plays both in transition and in the half-court. He does a nice job of knocking down shots in catch and shoot situations and uses his frame his his advantage as a finisher aorund the rim. Defensively, he can guard up and down a position and is capable of rebounding in space and in traffic. Gibson will continue his career in the fall at Cornell University.

He plays well on both ends of the floor. He had variety of moves near the paint with some soft touches. He attacks the glass relentlessly. He rips low when needed, plays with balance/strength. Finishes through contact. On the defensive side of the ball he makes shots difficult with his closeouts/length. He can guard 1-5 positions. A D1 prospect if he continues to improve/be consistent but would have a great D2 career.

Gibson wasn’t known by many around New England before the NMH Tip-Off, but that has changed quite a bit since. After his two dominant performances this past weekend, mid major D1 programs should be taking a hard look at the 6-foot-6 wing. There isn’t a thing Gibson can’t do. Offensively, he shoots it well, handles it comfortably for his size, has above average athleticism and finishing chops at the rim, and is a very heady passer. Defensively, he works his behind off and is ALWAYS around the basketball. He has the IQ, skill, athleticism and desire. Gibson is the biggest riser of the prep season so far.

Already a hidden gem tucked away somewhat off the radar in South Jersey, Gibson had his recruitment sputtered by a midseason injury that would wind up costing him the rest of his senior year. Now slated for a post-grad year at a to-be-determined prep school, the well-rounded swingman will look to place himself back onto scholarship radars with Uptown Hoops of the MHC. A lengthy scoring guard with good size and pop in his legs, Gibson intrigues with his ability to thrive as a feature scorer in high school while also standing out with his efficient complementary game in previous AAU settings. As the go-to guy with Uptown, he should clearly benefit from the increased exposure within a starring role, and still at just 17 years old, it wouldn’t be shocking for a high-academic D1 program to take a chance on him as a developmental piece in the 2026 class.

Gibson can score in both the inside and outside game and likes to use his 6’4″ size to his advantage. He has strong handles for his size and looks to take his defender off the dribble so he can get right to the rim. He has an excellent pump fake that gets players jumping. From three-point land, Gibson has a quick release that looks so smooth giving him the best chance to get it off over closing defenders. He can defend every position and crashes the glass well as a double-double threat almost every game.
