Davis McCarn | Prep Hoops Scout
2027 guard Qua Watson had the best individual performance of the night, exploding for 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in a win over Greenbrier. Watson was control offensively, showing his ability to score at all three levels and making life difficult Greenbriers defense. He connected on four three pointers, confidently stepping into shots from the perimeter, while also attacking the paint with strength and body control to finish through contact. His ability to create offense off the dribble and capitalize in transition kept constant pressure on the defense throughout the night. Watson never seemed to force the action, instead letting the game come to him while consistently making winning plays. Performances like this continue to show why he is one of the more productive 2027 guards to keep an eye on moving forward.

Qua is a polished three-level scorer and a late bloomer whose game has quietly been effective for years. A move to a larger school should only increase his exposure, as he’s long been a matchup issue for defenders. He has a tight handle that allows him to get to his spots with ease, and everything flows naturally into a smooth jumper. Though built on a slender frame, he absorbs contact well, stays balanced through bumps, and consistently finishes through defenders at the rim.

is a true scorer who was born to put the basketball in the bucket. He comes out of the gate aggressive, confidently getting to his spots and scoring at all three levels. His handle allows him to create space and generate his own shot with ease, and he is very effective operating in pick-and-roll scoring actions.
Watson is also a high-level shooter who can really stretch the floor. As the game continues to slow down for him, his playmaking has shown rapid progression, allowing him to make better reads and elevate the offense for both him and his teammates

Wired to score, Watson turned heads this offseason on the travel ball circuit. He’s a polished isolation scorer who gets to his spots upon creating separation. He has the neon green light to shoot during the high school season. He has takeover ability once he gets hot. Playing within himself with a level head will be important.
