Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
The youngster has grown into a potential imposing player, with great size, wingspan and good mobility. After a slow start as a shooter, he started to hit and looked confident as a stretch four. Was most impressed when he was active around the rim, as his size could make him a big time rim deterrent in Oklahoma. But he will need to play to his size with a strong mindset to do that. Could potentially thrive in a rim running, rebounding and occasionally three point role for his new school, 5A dark horse Classen SAS

Providing the size for the Movement team, Vanlandigham is a still growing wing-forward prospect. Made his mark in this contest with good activity when it came to rebounding on both ends of the court. And even did a good job of matching up with a couple opposing forwards of similar size. Can put it on the floor a bit, which could make him intriguing long term. Profiles as a potential later bloomer.

Pierson Vanlandingham had a very smooth, high release paired with a slick flick of the wrist, making his shot both effortless and consistent. He was a reliable shooter from deep, with tons of confidence, never hesitating to take and make shots from beyond the arc. His mechanics and poise made him a constant scoring option from long range.

played extremely well in the couple of games that I saw him. Throughout both games, he was a rebounding machine. I think he pushed 10+ rebounds in both games. These rebounds would turn into second chance points or good outlet passes a lot of the time. He showed the ability to score inside and he knocked down multiple three pointers in one game. Outside of that, he was utilizing his great length and size advantage to come away with several blocks. If he was not blocking the shot, he was affecting it to force a miss majority of the time. He provided a good interior presence that could score and set his teammates up in transition. Despite not being the most athletic, his I.Q and skillset helped him make a big impact. I would say that he was playing similar to how Bill Walton played.
