About Owen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play mostly in the post but also at the 3 PT line. I am best at mid range shots, getting downhill for layups and other finishing, and lastly a lot of pick and roll. I am a good rebounder and an above average defender with good passing.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a good teammate and leader I love playing with and getting to know my teammates. I was also the captain of my 8th grade varsity team and earned the award for sportsmanship athlete of the year. Also I am always looking to get better every day in everything I do.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I ran a Jesus Club in 8th grade and have earned honor roll multiple times in middle school, lastly I was P.E student of the year in 8 th grade.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I love being with others and I am all willing to serve. I have served elementary school kids at my church. I have been on multiple teams so I know how to work with others very well.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Unfortunately my high school didn't offer any type of feeder programs but I didn't let that stop me. I tried out for other feeder programs in the area and got noticed and got to play on another team. This lead me to be able to make connections with other players and coaches which got me involved with AAU basketball in my area.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges that are around the Washington area, but I am not too picky because if it means I get to play basketball I am happy. I am not set on a major in college yet, but I am interested in sports management and engineering.
