Franklin Community picked up a first round win over East Central, 49-27, on Tuesday night. Thomas, a talented unsigned senior point guard, finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. He is a dynamic playmaker that small college programs should consider.

A guard that has really stepped in a lot of ways this season has been senior ball handler Oamri Thomas of Franklin Community High School. For the Grizzly Cubs, he is their top guy and is averaging a team-high 13.6 points while adding 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists for them. He is a small college prospect that has such a great feel for the game being able to mix it up in the lane, create on the ball, and knock down jumpers. Whichever school can get him at the next level may get a steal.

We have seen Thomas play a lot over the years, but we haven’t yet seen Franklin Community this season. The Grizzly Cubs are 8-7 on the year with this unsigned senior point guard leading the way averaging 13.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. Thomas has had some big games against strong competition this season.

Franklin Community squeaked out a 71-68 overtime victory over Indian Creek thanks in large part to this senior guard. Thomas scored a game-high 30 points to go with 5 rebounds and 3 steals to lead the Grizzly Cubs. The 5’11” point guard is an under-the-radar small college prospect.

Omari is an athletic lead guard that impacts the game on both ends with his speed. Shifty when getting in the lane, he does a good job staying on balance and playing off two feet. Patient when running the pick and roll and is able to make any pass on the floor. Scrappy defender that can turn defense to offense in a hurry. Look for him to be one of the top guards at camp.

One of the best pure playmaking guards that I was able to get eyes on Saturday was

2026. First thing I noticed that is it looks like he has grown a bit more height and frame wise since the last time I saw him. Real quick burst off the dribble but it was his consistent scoring from deep that was impressive the most. Plays with a really good feel on the floor and has natural lead guard instincts.

An under-the-radar guard we are excited to get another look at this weekend is Franklin Community’s Omar Thomas. While he is on the shorter end at 5’11, Thomas is a guard that can produce and do it with quick burst of speed on the ball. He plays with a lot of shiftiness as well being able to create on the ball for himself and others. Hoosier State Prospects 2026 has some really good talent on their roster and the head of the snake is Omar Thomas.

This Hoosier State Prospects guard has had a very strong start to the spring. He continued his strong play through this past weekend capping it off with a 15-point, 10-assists, zero turnover performance in a 79-78 win over MidPro West to secure a 2-1 record at the event. Thomas creates his own shot well and has the shiftiness necessary to make plays for his teammates as well.

Thomas had a very good summer with the Grizzly Cubs after transferring from North Central to Franklin High School. He will take on a prominent role in the backcourt which suits his overall playmaking ability well. The 5’11” point guard plays with good pace which allows him to create separation for jump shots both in the mid-range and beyond the arc. Then, when looking to get downhill to the rim, he has enough burst to create separation there as well. Look for a big junior season from Thomas this winter.
