Torres, a guard out of East Catholic High School in Connecticut, makes his first appearance on the Watch List and should quickly jump into the ranked category come March. A big, physical guard, he does a terrific job of reading plays before they develop on the defensive end of the floor. With a high activity level, he’s able to create turnovers both as an on-ball defender and off the ball in passing lanes. Offensively, he uses his strength to his advantage as a downhill driver, where he can both create for others and finish at the rim himself. Beyond that, he’s quickly developing into one of the better underclassmen shooters in the CIAC.
