Padilla, a wing out of East Catholic High School in Connecticut, checks in at #11 among the small forwards and #56 overall in this update. The 6’2″ wing is a jack-of-all-trades, a prospect that’s capable of doing a bit of everything on the floor. He can handle the ball in the half-court, plays bigger than his size defensively, and has the ability to impact the game on both ends with his athleticism. He’s a strong driver, finishes with athleticism and strength around the rim, and is capable of scoring out of isolations with the ball in his hands. On the other end of the floor, he can guard up and down a position and makes life difficult for opposing scorers with his combination of strength and agility. Padilla is running this spring and summer with the Hartford Shockers.

Padilla has excellent strength, body control and athleticism for his size, and he’s producing a lot for his East Catholic squad this season. The 6-foot-2 sophomore does a really excellent job cutting to the rim and finding pockets in the paint to receive the ball, and he does a fantastic job finishing with contact. On numerous occasions, I’ve seen him elevate and take contact while also being able to convert and-ones with both hands. Padilla’s physicality and strength are quite intriguing for his age, but it’s unclear whether he’ll continue to grow and get bigger.

Padilla, a two-way forward out of East Catholic High School in Connecticut, is an elite athlete that plays with an incredibly high motor on both ends of the floor. A standout with his physicality, he’s really advanced his skillset in recent months and profiles as a wing going forward. He stands out with his ability to guard up and down a line-up defensively, with great lateral quickness and the physical strength needed to defend in the paint. Offensively, he makes shots in catch and shoot situations, has good burst off the bounce, and impresses with his nose for the ball on the offensive glass.
