A dominant paint presence, Klingbeil had numerous putback layups by using his height advantage in the paint to score. Able to score with his back to the basket and as a roll man as well, Klingbeil is the centerpiece of the North Royalton half-court offense. I was impressed with how Klingbeil attacked the basketball in the air and finished through contact. Another impressive performance by one of the better bigs in northeast Ohio’s 2027 class.

One of two North Royalton players to debut in the 2027 rankings this update, Klingbeil is a three sport athlete at North Royalton and tops out at 91 MPH as a pitcher. His size is impressive in the paint and he has soft hands and good footwork with his back to the basket. Also able to run dho’s through him as a screener and make kickouts from the post to a shooter, Klingbeil is a very valuable high school big on the offensive end of the court. Looking like a baseball first prospect, Klingbeil would get some strong small college interest if he wanted to prioritize basketball this summer as well.

This day was headlined by impressive performances by multi-sport athletes as Klingbeil is an impressive pitcher during the spring for North Royalton. I was impressed by Klingbeil’s footwork in the paint, being patient with the ball in his hands and making advanced moves with his back to the basket. North Royalton guards did a nice job of finding Klingbeil in the paint where he could catch and finish or kickout to a shooter when he was double-teamed. After winning the region last season, North Royalton has another talented team this year.
