About Nigel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is a savvy, game managing point guard who is a great playmaker, perimeter defender who can score at all three levels.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality as a person and player is that all things are earned not given. I strongly believe hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. My personality is best described as a down to earth and jolly spirit who can handle being in social circles.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in the BOSS Program, which stands for Business of Student Success led by Mr. Everett Glenn. I have received academic awards for my grades on three occasions to date.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

A few skills I have developed in my growth as a young-adult is leadership as a point guard I have to be an extension of the coach on and off the court. I have also developed a skill for communication and service to others, best shown in my experience in leading basketball camps for the youth, spending time with special needs kids and giving back to the homeless in Skid Row, California.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge I had to face is dealing with a tear in my left hamstring and multiple ankle injuries. They all were caused due to wear and tear on the basketball court and the hamstring injury prevented me from getting a full summer of work going into my junior year due to rehabbing. These injuries have taught me the importance of patience and self talk. A good mentality always prevails.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that wants what I have to offer as a person and player and that has a prominent student body and campus life.
