Throughout the week he remained the primary ball handler as he made good decisions and made effective passes to his teammates. In the first game he dropped 18 points making shots from the perimeter and getting in transition for quick leaks in order to convert layups for New Wave Academy.

This floor general is the motor that makes the offense go, everything running through his dribble, pace, and ability to read the floor ahead of time. When the court opens, Neumann thrives in early offense action, pushing the ball with speed while keeping his eyes up, reading defenders before they have a chance to get set, forcing defenses to make decisions on the move, with every hesitation, shoulder turn, or dribble angle being purposeful. His handle is tight and efficient, allowing Neumann to navigate closed spaces without losing balance. In pick-and-roll situations, Neumann doesn’t just come off the screen to score, he consistently uses it to outwit the defenders involved, coming off a high ball picks with a slight hang dribble or hesitation, just enough to freeze the on-ball defender and force the big to commit, without rushing, and always probing.

A true connective lead guard who elevates team rhythm with his passing and decision-making. Neumann’s a high-level distributor and lob thrower who thrives in pick-and-roll settings, consistently finding his big man at the right time and angle. Neumann’s court awareness allows him to play with anticipation, whether threading pocket passes through traffic or delivering perfectly timed alley-oops over the top.

Nelson transferred to New Wave Academy this year from Good Vision Academy, and he made major waves as a playmaker in my eyes during some of NWA’s Sunday matchups. Nelson was really good at finding teammates in open spots and many times, was one of the more unselfish players on the court. Neumann also showed that he can take advantage of slower matchups and pull up from either the midrange or the three point line if defenders fail to close out.

He makes crisp passes, plays under control, and has a nice touch from midrange and deep. Neumann’s ability to manage a game and limit turnovers gives him a steady floor presence. He’s a system-friendly guard with winning habits.
