Expert Analysis
Davis McCarn | Prep Hoops Scout
Hawthorne is a strong-framed guard with a confident outside jumper and polished shooting mechanics. He gets great elevation and arc on his shot, allowing him to knock down tough looks even in tight windows. He’s more than just a shooter though, as his handle and feel with the ball make him a legitimate scoring threat off the bounce as well. Hawthorne plays under control and understands how to create space without overdribbling. Defensively, his size gives him versatility and the potential to impact multiple positions. As he continues to sharpen that side of his game, he has the tools to become a highly regarded prospect in the 2028 class.

Hawthorne’s presence feels bigger than his listed size. He plays with strength, energy, and a willingness to do whatever is needed. He rebounds well for a guard, uses his body to finish through contact, and can score from both the mid-range and beyond the arc. He embraced physical play and even handled time in the frontcourt without hesitation. His work in the pick-and-roll stood out, and his stamina allowed him to maintain a high level of play throughout. A do-it-all guard.
