Maumee Valley Country Day has been a small school program to watch over the past few seasons and their loaded 2027 class has lost a couple transfers but still has enough talent to make a deep run this postseason. Wilson is a nice wing athlete who is at his best in transition and can also score off cuts and second chance opportunities. He’ll have the chance to play with the ball in his hands more often with the transfer of Jeybrehm Price to a prep school and this opportunity could help boost his recruitment. The Hawks will once again be one of the top teams to watch in Toledo!

A player who has continued to improve, Wilson had a strong showing in a win over Dublin Jerome. The wing has put on quality muscle over the past year and is playing stronger in the paint as a roll man and interior finisher. Knocking down a 3-pointer off a pindown and a pull-up mid-range jumper, Wilson flashed some perimeter scoring as well. Look for Wilson to put up strong scoring, rebounding and steals numbers this winter.

Wilson had a two-way impact on the floor on Day 1, and Hoop Nation 2027 benefited greatly from his efforts. He was on a mission defensively, committing to getting the ball out of his opposition’s hands as much as possible. His quick lateral movement allowed him to stay in front of the ball as well as help on drives to the basket. His height and length were put to use when shots went up on either end of the floor. His defensive boards allowed Hoop Nations to quicken their transition and look to score early and often on the break. He had his eyes up and provided a pass-first mentality from the combo guard position. Most notable was his ability to put his opponent on his hip and gain the advantage on his drives to the rim. His toughness at the guard position was a catalyst for Hoop Nation early into the weekend.
