Modi is, to me, the biggest X factor in the region this season. For the descriptions about guys above being hard to guard, Kouyate has the potential to compete with all of them. Extremely versatile and athletic, Modi is one of the best players in the state who never gets mentioned with the rest of the best.

Modi is a versatile and skilled big man who gets better every time I see him. His high school statistics don’t jump off the page but his size and ability is the type of player that college coaches covet. A good shot blocker who is switchable across multiple positions, Kouyate is playing for the Mali U17 team this summer and is only going to get better against that type of competition.

Modi is another transplant to Greensburg from the east coast and he has a ton of long term potential thanks to his size and advanced skill set. Kouyate is averaging 8 points and 7 rebounds per game so far and has the ability to grab a rebound and lead the break as a playmaker. One for D1 schools to track for sure.

Modi is perhaps the biggest X Factor in the 5th region at this point. While James Jr. is the more well known prospect on the east coast, Kouyate offers serious athleticism and rim protection in a region that’s short on both. One player compared Modi to former Marion County star James Jewell. I’m interested to see both the Green County imports.
