Carey, out of Amherst Regional High School in Massachusetts, checks in at #41 among the small forwards and #188 overall. Carey got some recent press from us for the impact he makes as a scorer in the MIAA, but that should take away from the overall well-roundedness of his game. The 6’5″ athlete is a terrific defender that can guard up or down a position, rebounds the basketball at a high rate, and offers some rim protection from the help side. Offensively, he’s really good in transition where his physical gifts shine, while also showing the ability to make timely scoring cuts in the half-court. He should be a priority recruit at the Division III level this winter.
