Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Goodman was easily one of the most eye-catching performers of the showcase, going 12/19 from the field including 3/8 from three-point range – a skill he has been steadily developing over the last few months. At times the big man out of O’Dea High School looked like a player that can kill you from all over the floor, hitting faceup mid-range shots, drilling catch and shoot threes, taking defenders off the dribble and finishing high above the rim. His development continues as he showed off an improved handle, more fluidity and range with the jumper, and the mindset to flush everything remotely near the hoop. With the high school season only three weeks away, Goodman has established himself as one of the premier talents in Washington as his development continues to prosper at a blistering rate.

Goodman is another local product on UW’s radar, picking up an offer from the Huskies at the end of August. He also holds offers from San Diego State and Montana. The big man has made huge leaps over the summer, showing the high potential that should continue to garner high major division one offers. Goodman is a long player who hunts for action at the rim; dunks, tip-ins, blocks, you name it. He also has an emerging jumper that still needs work but looks very promising all the way out to three-point. He’s a high riser in the ranks and should continue his rapid growth over the coming season.

No. 1 | Goodman was an easy choice for the top spot. He’s not just the best forward prospect in the area, but one of the best overall prospects in the state. Goodman is accelerating his game forward at an incredible pace, showing a strong desire to be the best he can. The next step for the talented big man is to dominate a game from start to finish. There are certainly going to be mismatches during the high school season where Goodman will have the opportunity to back up the hype and it will be yet another step forward for him. This should be a big year for one of the top forwards in the 2024 class.
