Player of the Year in the Conference. Samuels is relentless attacking the basket, and uses his size and versatility to play off or on the ball which showed off his elite playmaking ability once he gets into the lane. He has a smooth release on catch-and-shoot jumpers making him a threat to score on and off the ball. Micah is strong athletic prospect that is a college level worthy prospect.

Came away impressed again with Micah’s all-around effectiveness over the game. He flies around the court looking to lock everything down, grab the the rebound, and beat everyone down the floor to repeat again. Does a little bit of everything for Takoma. Starts the fastbreak with strong rebounds and can push it up the floor himself if the defense doesn’t cut his path. Strong athlete but smart with the ball and makes timely passes to his teammates. Didn’t force his shot and took what the defense gave, doesn’t step outside his role. One of the few players I think has a chance to put up 5×5 (5p/5a/5r/5s/5b) on the statsheet on a lot of nights.

-Samuels impressed with his usual devastatingly-athletic plays with a flurry of blocks (8!!), two-handed dunks in transition, and rebounds. But it was his play-making progression that impressed me the most. A dynamic athlete that uses his athleticism well to get to his spots, Samuels did a great job of getting two feet in the paint and kicking out to his shooters on the perimeter despite the fact that he usually could’ve drawn a foul and shot some FTs. His unselfishness led to some great performances from his backcourt space but also opened up the paint a bit more for him to get his own at the rim. Samuels had several chasedown or help spikes at the rim, showing off his court awareness to protect the key for a Takoma Academy team that doesn’t really have a true big this season.

Micah Samuels Micah Samuels 6'3" | CG Takoma Academy | 2025 State MD is a new addition to the rankings and one of my favorite players to watch. Micah is the kind of player who can score 25 but doesn’t need to score a lot to make his impact on a game. Micah can defend at a high level and is a fantastic rebounder. He can knock down perimeter shots but also does well attacking the rim. Micah had a great summer and his ascension to getting his name in the rankings is well deserved.
