About Matthew

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a hard nosed rough rider player. I'm all heart and hustle, can score in all four phases on the court. I can guard all five positions, explosive athlete with great leaping ability. I finish strong around the rim in the half court and in transition. I have a high motor on the glass,

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I try to focus on my strengths and what I can control, rather than what I need to work on or what I think I might need to do. I Embrace the pressure: I try to embrace the pressure of game day. I try to be aware of my environment: Be aware of what's happening on the court and try to react quickly and effectively

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My junior season was missed due to mid season transfer, which affected me being approved for Varsity play. I take my talent and abilities serious and look forward to making up for this in my senior season with Austin High School. My summer season on Puma circuit helped me keep my skills up and on point to be successful.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm open to all levels NAIA, D2, D1, JUCO.

In AAU and his school’s summer league Matthew showed that he is an explosive athlete with great leaping ability. He finishes strong around the rim in the half court and in transition. Matthew has a high motor on the glass, it’s been times I’ve seen him grab multiple offensive rebounds in games I’ve watched him play throughout the summer.  Overall, Matthew provided great hustle while playing for the Invictus Red Storm this summer and Fort Bend Austin during the summer league. I look forward to seeing him play this upcoming high school season.
