About Mattea

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Explosive player that can shoot the 3 (40% on season), drive the ball to the hole, get to the free throw line and make it (above Nebraska State record), athletic (28 inch vertical and school record holder, power clean and bench press school record holder. I put pressure on defenses and create shots for other players. High intensity defensive player. Rebound well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I compete as hard as I can no matter what I am doing. Because of my faith in Jesus Christ, I believe I can do all things through Him. I hate to lose and want to make my team and teammates better by being a positive leader and team player.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society Academic All-State Iron Crusader Award - commitment in the weight room Discipleship group leader at Lincoln Christian School

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am blessed to have the opportunity to invest back into the younger girls in our school that now look up to me. I do 1 on 1 lessons with them as well as help with youth team camps. I also help run a camp that partners with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I have had great role models and understand servant leadership. I want to serve those around me and prioritize their needs.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My freshmen our team was not good and freshmen class was very strong and undefeated. We could beat the varsity but it was hard on the coach to make that switch and he never did. We finished the season with poor record, not getting to play and only scoring 2 points in a half of basketball in districts. This fueled my hunger to become better and to help change the culture.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with strong academics and a WBB program with excellence.
