About Matt

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with high energy and confidence every time I step on the court. I’m aggressive getting into the lane and can score whenever I want, but I also take pride in locking up on defense and bringing intensity on every possession. I love creating for my teammates, setting them up with easy buckets, and being a vocal leader who keeps everyone locked in. I can stretch the floor by shooting the lights

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m extremely competitive and hate losing. You have to outwork me to win because I never back down or take plays off. I bring intensity, focus, and effort every time I’m on the court. I take pride in doing the little things that make a difference and in pushing myself and my teammates to be better every day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I’m involved in Student Council, where I help represent my classmates and take part in organizing school events and community activities. Being part of Student Council has helped me build leadership, communication, and teamwork skills that I also bring to the court.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership and teamwork through both basketball and Student Council. On the court, I push my teammates to give their best, communicate, and stay focused, while off the court, I help organize events and support my school community. These experiences have taught me responsibility, dedication, and the importance of working with others to achieve a common goal.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced challenges learning to balance academics, basketball, and extracurricular activities like Student Council. Managing my time and staying disciplined during busy periods has taught me resilience, focus, and the importance of hard work. These experiences have made me stronger on and off the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that believes in me, where I’m wanted both on and off the court, and where I can contribute, compete, and continue to grow as a player and a person.
