McWhorter returns for his senior season after earning All-District honors and averaging nearly 20 points per game as a junior. A skilled, smart guard with a high basketball IQ, he is an excellent perimeter shot maker with deep shooting range and the ability to put points on the board in bunches. He also brings excellent court vision and passing ability, allowing him to serve as a secondary ball handler and create opportunities for his teammates. McWhorter has a good feel for the game, consistently makes winning plays and impacts the game beyond his scoring ability.

McWhorter had a great junior season averaging close to 20 points per game last year on a team that was quietly one of the best in the state, and this year going into his senior season he has a chance to be one of the top players in the Charlottesville area. The 6’2” off guard is a do it all type of player who can play on or off the ball and make plays for himself and others, he is a dead eye shooter from deep with good range and a quick release, he is very good at creating space off the bounce and making tough shots in the midrange with good burst to get to the rim, and he can stuff the stat sheet and impact winning in a lot of ways.

An All-State selection, McWhorter averaged nearly 20 points per game while knocking down 53 three-pointers during his junior season. He creates space effectively off the dribble to get to his jump shot and combines that with better-than-average quickness. McWhorter plays with confidence, shows a strong feel for the game, and consistently makes smart decisions with the basketball.
