With the summer coming to an end, we decided to take a look at some of the top underrated players that college coaches should be watching for heading into the season. Here's a look at seven wings in the Central/Souther/Western areas that aren't getting the love that they deserve from coaches.

Cornett has been a standout for a Cave Spring team that has been one of the best in the Roanoke area over the past few years, and he is one of the more intriguing prospects in that area with his blend of size, athleticism and skillset. At 6'5” with long arms he has great positional size for the next level, he can work on the ball and get downhill where he's a good finisher at the rim, he can work off the ball and knock down shots from deep, and he has a ton of potential on the defensive end at the next level too.

Isaac McLaughlin-Radde | 6'3” SF | Tandem Friends

Radde burst onto the scene last season for Tandem Friends after transferring there, and this summer he continues to show that he is one of the more talented players from Charlottesville that you will find. He's a high level shooter from deep with good range and a quick release, he can get downhill and is an explosive finisher when he gets his feet right, he has tremendous confidence and can score it in bunches when he gets hot, and he has good instincts defensively as well.

Landon Horne | 6'3” SG | Central-Wise

Horne was an All State selection last season for a very good Central-Wise team, and with a 4.0 GPA he'd be a great player for high academic and small schools to look at. The 6'3” guard can straight up score the basketball as he in the gym range off the catch, he has good shift off the bounce and great footwork when he gets to his spots in the midrange, he can push in transition where he can score it or make plays for others, and he has a high IQ and great instincts on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='3571359' first='Kaden' last='Houseright'] | 6'4” SG | Gate City

It's been a while since Gate City dominated SWVA and produced college level prospects every year, but Houseright has emerged as the next one for the Blue Devils after his breakout junior campaign. He has great positional size with long arms and is a good athlete, he is lights out from deep with range well beyond the college line, he moves well off the ball with the ability to come off screens and knock down shots on the move, and he can put it on the deck and get to spots off the bounce too.

[player_tooltip player_id='3571362' first='Mason' last='McWhorter'] | 6'2” SG | Wilson Memorial

Wilson Memorial had a terrific season last year going undefeated in the regular season before falling in the state tournament, and McWhorter was the main reason as the All State wing averaged nearly 20 points per game on super efficient shooting. He's a true three level scorer with the ability to play on or off the ball, he has a high IQ reading screens well whether he's running off them or initiating out of a ball screen, he brings great energy on the defensive end with good instincts and feet, and he is a good rebounder who will attack the glass and can start the break.

[player_tooltip player_id='3571370' first='Trey' last='Moore'] | 6'4” SF | East Rockingham

Moore is the next college prospect for a program in East Rockingham that has produced several over the past few years including recent draft pick Tyler Nickel, and the All Region wing is coming off a big junior season with a lot of promise for his senior season too. The 6'4” wing is a big time athlete who thrives in transition with his speed and ability to get on the rim, he's deadly in the midrange with an array of floaters and pull-ups he hits consistently, he's a good defender with the tools to be a lock down one at the next level, and he plays with a good motor attacking the glass and fighting for 50-50 balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='3569874' first='Ayden' last='Padgett'] | 6'3” SG | Liberty

Talk about a wing who can score the ball, you won't find many in the Lynchburg area who can do it as well as Padgett who had a monster junior season in Bedford and is a player coaches should really take a look at. The 6'3” wing is a big time athlete who can get out in transition and play above the rim, he shoots the cover off it from deep with in the gym range and a quick release, he can get to the pull-up or post smaller defenders and hit the fall-away, and he in their biggest games and moments he was one who had no problem stepping up and getting it done.
