About Mason

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Fundamentally sound, able to handle both SG and PG positions and Defend. High IQ and consummate teammate. Can confidently shoot consistently from tree point range or get to the basket for scoring or assists.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Good character individual with general leadership traits. High basketball IQ and honor student, excelling in AP and honors courses.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Academic honors during freshman and sophomore years of high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Continuing to enhance leadership skills both on and off the court through volunteering at TCU concession stand and supporting Breast Cancer Awareness activities. In my position in athletics my character and willingness to work hard and accept coaching instruction has benefitted my growth and development with teammates and classmates.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I ma not sure if this is considered "significant" yet having gone through a growth spur since middle school, I have worked with a developmental coach year-round to make sure I can compete effectively at the SG and PG positions. Fundamental and shooting workouts have increased my ball handling, shooting range and defensive abilities.

What type of college are you looking for?

Aspiration is to play at the competitive D1 level as a priority and continue as a achieving student athlete. I am open to continuing both within and outside of Texas.

Mason Forbes Mason Forbes Mason Forbes 6'2" | SG/PG Kennedale | 2026 TX proved to be a catch-and-shoot threat, constantly relocating to the perimeter and sprinting off pindowns to create clean looks. His release was quick and compact, allowing him to get shots up before defenders can fully close out. Within halfcourt actions, he popped out on the perimeter with great balance, hands shot-ready, knees loaded and squared helping him fire immediately upon the catch. He showed an understanding of how to use screens effectively with sharp cuts and tight curls to free himself along the arc.

Mason Forbes showcased his midair creativity by beating defenders with inside hand finishes, using his body to shield the ball and keep it away from shot blockers. He was both unpredictable and effective in traffic, driving with precision and producing difficult angles that made it challenging for defenders to contest his shots. Forbes’ ability to adjust midair and create scoring opportunities in tight spaces set him apart as a dynamic finisher.
