Expert Analysis

Magloire, a wing out of St. John’s Prep in Massachusetts, checks in at #5 among the shooting guards and #23 overall. One of the top freshmen in the MIAA last season, he’s taken his game to another level this winter. Primarily a paint scorer last season, his perimeter game has really developed, particularly his ability to consistently knock down threes. He’s got good positional size, plus length, and is a solid athlete, all of which allows him to make an inside-out impact on both ends of the floor. Defensively, his ability to rebound, both in space and in traffic, stands out.

Magloire didn’t play in Tuesday’s 7th place game, but the 6-foot-2 sophomore impressed me during an early-season matchup against powerhouse Newton North. The wing is more than ready to play at the highest levels of the MIAA; his physicality and strength is very elite for his age, and he uses those tools to bully opposing defenders under the rim. He can also handle the ball a bit and has some solid wiggle to his movements and footwork in the paint. Magloire needs to get more under control and shore up his shot selection, but the St. John’s Prep sophomore has a really solid foundation that he can build on moving forward.

Magloire has an incredibly bright future ahead. The 6-foot-2 sophomore can do it all offensively and has a growing physical frame that will probably look a lot different by the time he’s an upperclassman. But right now, he’s a really solid outside shooter who attacks closeouts well and can use his athleticism and strength to body opposing guards and wings in the lane. Magloire started and played quite well for St. John’s Prep last season, but he’s well positioned to be even more dominant this year, especially after a really successful AAU season with the Mass Rivals. Total stud.

Magloire, a sophomore wing out of St. John’s Prep, is in line for a breakout season. A well-built prospect, he does a nice job of playing through contact in the paint, scores it at multiple levels both on and off the ball, and has the ability to get to his spots off the bounce. He is hard to guard in transition and does a nice job of playing at different speeds with the ball in his hands.

Magloire, a guard out of St. John’s Prep in Massachusetts, checks in at #28 overall and #5 among the shooting guards. Magloire is an uber efficient scorer, capable of getting buckets at multiple levels and proving to be hard to guard when he gets downhill off the bounce. He gets to his spots with limited dribbles, moves well without the basketball, and has the strength needed to finish around the rim against larger opponents. Defensively, he has the ability to defend multiple positions and is incredibly active on the glass, showing the ability to operate as a grab-and-go rebounder that triggers the break.
