Marcus also earned a spot in the updated rankings thanks to a good day in Rock Hill at The Expo, but I was very familiar with his game prior to the event. The small but strong and smart Point Guard had a great Summer with Dreher HS and SC Kings .

First up on my list of top Guards from the Myrtle Beach Jam is Marcus Johnson Marcus Johnson 5'10" | PG/SG Dreher | 2026 State SC . He had caught my eye in the past, but this was my first check-in with him this Summer with his new squad. Johnson may be undersized, but he is extremely strong and uses his body well to create space. He also doesn’t get sped up, uses his handle to penetrate defenses, and can knock down jumpers from the mid-range. Marcus had several tough finishes through contact and nice dribble moves in an 8-point, 4-assist, and 2-steal performance.

Marcus is another Carolina Pressure 2026 Guard with good backcourt versatility and feel for the game. Johnson has a little bit of a thicker frame and is not as quick, but did display an ability to control the pace of play in the half-court and stay composed under ball pressure. He can dissect a defense with his excellent floor vision and tight handle or can score the rock with a comfortable pull-up game and knockdown perimeter shooting – especially in the corners.

Johnson is a scrappy guard who impacts winning by doing a little bit of everything for his squad. Although he is on the smaller size for a guard, his strong lower half allows him to guard wings on the defensive end without being a liability. He also chips in fearless rebounding and will jump a passing lane to get out in transition. He grabbed 8 rebounds to go with 6 points in the Saturday-morning win.
