Lakewood returns plenty of experience this year but must replace its leading scorer, which will on create an opportunity for other guys to step up and a player like Straughter can emerge as an under the radar standout in this kind of situation. Last season he showed that he could be a capable scorer who can benefit from improving his shot selection and learning to operate more effectively without the ball as that will create some easy points for him, open up the flow of the Lakewood offense and the biggest thing is get Lakewood a few more wins. Making the game easier through movement, patience, and better decisions will be essential in the teams success. Straughter must also improve his ball security, look to be more of a facilitator, and remain active on the glass to become a more complete contributor and this should be the year for him.
