Malachi is a smart, collected combo guard that see the floor incredibly well and quickly finds opportunities most would miss initially. He stretches the floor nicely with his three-point range and the ability to snatch extra points off the glass in the paint. He has a knack for finding his cutters instantly and placing the ball in their hands with such precision that they never break stride on their way to another bucket. He stays in front of his assignments defensively and never takes a play off on either end of the floor.

Malachi Grayson Malachi Grayson 6'0" | SG/PG Celina | 2030 TX mixed burst with defensive stubbornness, making drivers uncomfortable at the point of attack. Hustle plays — tips, recoveries, floor burns — piled up. Playmaking stayed efficient, and shotmaking showed range when he had rhythm. That two-way edge made him a standout in the 5’7″–5’9″ group.

Malachi Grayson Malachi Grayson 6'0" | SG/PG Celina | 2030 TX displayed all the makings of a reliable knockdown shooting threat. His smooth shooting touch, with the ball flowing effortlessly off his fingertips, was a clear standout. Whether taking spot-up shots or floaters, he maintained fluidity and control, even when attacking off-balance or navigating the baseline. His float game was particularly effective, adding versatility to his scoring arsenal. His decision-making with the ball was sound, always making the right play and providing stability on the floor. Beyond his offensive skill set, Grayson made an impact defensively. Unfazed by physicality or size disadvantages, he consistently held his own against taller opponents. His lateral quickness allowed him to stay in front of his man, making him a reliable perimeter defender.

Malachi is a smooth guard that has a knack for getting paint touches and putting pressure on defenders with his offensive approach.  Grayson is a good driver and can also shoot the trey ball when given decent looks.

A solid 3 point shooter, Malachi is a  smart and heady player that uses his IQ to get to the paint where he is able to fluidly use his dominant and off hands.  He also does a sound job talking and communicating on defense.  Malachi is the type of player that will really set himself apart from his peers in the future as he continues to grow and mature, as he already has the intangibles of a true basketball player.

Malachi is a smart, talented two-way guard that has a fantastic all-around game. His form on his jumper is beautiful and he’s patient with his decisions, which allows him to consistently seize the best opportunities for his team. He’s an excellent ballhandler with wonderful footwork and can create off the dribble or drive and kick to a wide open teammate with the attention he attracts from defenders. He never hangs his head or moseys – he’s always hustling down the floor with a next play mentality. His crossover leaves opposing ankles sore and he has a nice finger roll he likes to utilize off the drive. I expect Grayson to make plenty of noise entering his high school career and in the days leading up to it.
