Expert Analysis
Camden Rine | Prep Hoops Scout
Sanders is an incredible athlete and leader for this Southwest team. He is a huge reason why his team has started the year 4-0.
Sanders is currently averaging just over 15 points a game on 50% from the field. My favorite aspect of his game is his fearlessness with the ball. Sanders does a great job of driving, staying under control, and either finishing through contact or drawing a foul. Another way he impacts the game is his defense. Sanders is a very intense on-ball defender, and you can tell he takes pride on that end of the floor. He also does a great job of rebounding for his size.

Makkiah, as the twin brother of Uzziah, possesses many of the same traits and abilities. These two are able to cause problems for opponents, especially when they play together. Makkiah is also a very good defender, so opposing guards have to deal with both of these guys hounding you all game. Makkiah is very good around the basket and has a nice arsenal of shots around the basket. When you combine that finishing ability with his quickness and ability to get downhill, he is a dangerous player.
He averaged 17.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg, and 2.5 spg for Lincoln Southwest last year. He will be a key piece of Lincoln Southwest’s bid to return to the Class A state tournament. If he can take that next step, especially from beyond the arc, then Southwest could have a special season.
