I wrote about Mills recently in my ‘Small School 2026 Prospects” article. I think he’s a great PG1 and he manages the game with maturity. He also knows to get his teammates involved, but can create his own shot. Or pull up from long distance and bury a triple. Look for him and Needles to have a very successful season up in Northern Nevada.

Luke Mills Luke Mills 5'10" | PG Needles | 2026 State NV is now a veteran on the Needles team that made it all the way to the state championship last year. He plays with good pace and isn’t afraid to let it go from deep. He also has an ability to blow by his defender and he knows to locate the rim as he gets downhill. On the other side of the court, Mills plays with energy and he stays active with his hands.

Luke Mills Luke Mills 5'10" | PG Needles | 2026 State NV is a confident point guard that isn’t afraid to step into a 3 if defenders are slacking off of him. If his opponents attempt to crowd him, he is also a strong attacker and can beat you with his first step. On defense, Mills hunts for steals and he can push transition when he comes up with one.

Luke Mills Luke Mills 5'10" | PG Needles | 2026 State NV is a both a point guard and 3-point specialist. He can distribute the rock to his forwards or wings. But he also has the ability to pull up from beyond the arc and splash 3’s. His outside shooting helps keep the defense honest, and you have to respect his speed too. Although Needles didn’t quite finish the season they wanted to (losing in the 2A State Title), Mills definitely made a name for himself and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him playing in the championship again in 2026.
