He also fights hard for rebounds and occasionally scores second chance points for his team. On defense, Walema is a force on the inside and can both disrupt and block shots.

Luca Walema Luca Walema 6'5" | PF Needles | 2025 State NV proved to have some game and performed well in the 2A State Title matchup with Incline. He has the size and frame needed to score in the paint. He also has a decent shooting stroke and hit a 3-pointer. His versatility and gritty play likely had a lot to do with Needles’ 33-1 season.

Luca Walema Luca Walema 6'5" | PF Needles | 2025 State NV leveraged his height and wingspan on offense to put up 13 points in the 2A State Title game. He got open in the paint on multiple occasions and from there he shot right over the top of his defenders, Walema also surprised me by stepping out to the perimeter and knocking down a 3. In addition to his scoring, he fought hard for rebounds and didn’t take possessions off.

Walema only had 8 points in the Championship game, but it seemed as if everyone was a big one. He stopped several Incline runs with buckets around the rim. The post showed some grit and skill, banging down low, while using ballerina feet to nimbly avoid defenders. When it was all said and done, he and his Mustang teammates took home the 2A state title.
