Garners ability to get to his spots off the bounce was very impressive. He’s a big fan of the pull up mid range and was able to convert on that specific shot plenty of times. He elevates well, has good footwork, and the speed stop is under control putting him in the best position to convert on the shot. He runs the floor in transition well and can finish some tough finishes on the break with defenders attempting to cut him off.

The Wildcats return some studs in L.J. Berkstresser L.J. Berkstresser 6'0" | CG El Dorado | 2023 State KS and Barry Summers. But they could use a guard to step up and get them the ball and provide another threat. Garner looked this summer like he could grow into that role. He’s an energetic ball handler who pressures defenses and can score. But he’s an effective distributor and a tough-as-nails gamer. He was a key reserve as a sophomore who might take a big step forward this year.

Should have the primary ball handling role for El Dorado entering this season or one of the guys at that spot and Garner had a great July showing he is ready for an expanded role. Really shifty off the dribble especially with his side to side moves to create angles. Crafty finisher off of his drives, Garner can score in tight windows off the glass. Very competitive point guard on both ends of the floor, he plays with some swagger as well.

Garner (pictured at top) really impressed with a deep Padres team this summer, attacking with the ball and scoring effectively from inside and out. He runs the floor and is solid with the ball through contact. Garner was a nice contributor for the Wildcats last year and may be ready for a big leap this winter.
