Expert Analysis
Riley Highfill | Prep Hoops Scout
Linney Reed continues to prove that production speaks louder than rankings. The quick, aggressive point guard has been one of the most impactful players on the Adidas 3SSB Gold circuit this spring, helping Team Loaded Gold 16U jump out to an impressive 8-0 start.
At Session 2 in Texas, Reed was outstanding, averaging 28 points per game while consistently making winning plays. His ability to control tempo and make the correct reads within the flow of the offense separates him from many guards his age. Reed doesn’t force the action. Instead, he lets the game come to him while still maintaining an attacking mindset.
His speed with the ball, ability to get downhill, and knack for creating opportunities for teammates make him difficult to contain. Despite standing 5-foot-9, he plays with confidence and toughness, routinely finding ways to impact games against bigger opponents. If he continues producing at this level throughout the summer, expect more people around Virginia to start paying attention.
