Small schools always draw my attention when it comes to coverage. They usually enter the stage with limited numbers, low participation rates, mixed with a broad coverage area. Whereas most schools struggle, Dollar Bay seems to buck this trend and carry success on the court. Liam’s work ethic seems to be a big part of the Blue Bolt’s success. Last year, Liam and Co. brought home a district crown in District 98. They lost an OT squeaker to Bessemer in the regional QF, but this upcoming season, they look to come back with authority. He’s been hitting the weights hard in the offseason and looks poised to dominate in the Copper Mountain Conference during the 2025-2026 season.

Dollar Bay riding a 6-0 record to start the season, brings in Lake Linden-Hubbell tonight, a team that is on the mend at 0-5. I wanted to highlight this contest as Liam should surpass 1,000 points in this game. The Blue Bolts will be a force headed into the second half of the season and should make plenty of waves headed into the postseason. They play Crystal Fall-Forrest Park on 12/30 at Michigan Tech…this could be a preview of a regional matchup.

Dollar Bay is off to a magnificent start to their season and Liam is leading the charge. Liam landed on the second-team All-UP list last year as a sophomore and we will likely see first-team selection material (possibly even Dream Team) out of him as the season wears on. Coming off a hard-fought overtime win against Houghton, the Blue Bolts take on Hancock tonight in another matchup against a much bigger school. Word is, he is averaging well over 20 ppg so far, so we will hit the wires first thing tomorrow morning and check out his stats.

Tourtillott sent a message at The Expo. He brought a lot of energy that equated into winning hustle points for his team. Tourtillott was able to create space between his defenders and himself with the effective use of a head fake.

enters my scouting report as a 6’0″ combo guard. I can see why the previous report has him listed as a shooting guard because he has a soft touch around the basket. He can also pull up and shoot at any given moment with pinpoint accuracy. His excellent ball-handling and passing skills make him a solid threat to any style of defense. This young man should have a great upcoming junior season for the Blue Bolts.
