Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
Sheely started off the game in a slower note offensively but really took off in the 2nd half and never looked back. He score from behind the arc with three 3 pointers, using his in-between game, and scoring into contact. He made the most of his chances at the foul line. He finished with a game high 29 points 21 coming in the 2nd half. I want to see him play-off of two feet more when on the attack. He did a nice job of being in passing lanes and getting steals. He showed flashes of creating for others. He is getting recruited by small college programs but should also be a priority for postgrad programs in need of shooting.

Sheely started out with a great deal of intensity on the offensive end scoring 16 of his game high 29 points in the 1st quarter. He connected on five three pointers and if his feet were set there was a high chance he was connecting. Sheely was able to accomplish surpassing 1000 total points in his career during the game in the 2nd quarter while he was at the foul line. It was cool getting to see Liam accomplish this moment since I have been covering him since he was a freshman in high school. I liked how he found ways to touch the paint on the attack and used acrobatic layups inside. He also showed that he could find others for scoring looks of their own. Sheely is a prospect who would be a great addition to a postgrad program next season and should also see traction at the division two level if a school is looking for a shooter.

This was my first time getting to see Sheely play since the season due to him not playing in the grassroots season due to an injury. He looked like his vintage self scoring the basketball in a plethora of ways and using his strength to bully his way past defenders. He still shows that he can be a mainstay behind the arc with his ability to drill shots. Sheely has become more of a threat as a facilitator and has a great pulse on knowing how and when to find others for scoring opportunities. Sheely has transitioned nicely into a guard who play on or off the basketball.

Sheely is one of the best shooters in all of western Pennsylvania. He thrives drilling shoots when playing off the ball. If his feet are set from behind the arc there’s a high chance he will convert on that shot. Sheely had several multiple 3 point performances in the spring & summer on the AAU circuit.
