Heide is a post gaining some momentum and showed off his growth at the showcase. Did a great job working on the offensive boards, high pointing balls, going up with two strong hands, and making contested rebounds. Earned a ton of trips to the foul line as well and scored a game-high 29 points against Grant to go along with 13 rebounds. Averaged 20 points and 15 boards across the weekend.

Liam is a big time player on the court. He has a big presence on the inside, getting open easily and being able to get smooth buckets. He can use his dribble nicely to set himself up for easy shots or to find his teammates who are open on the outside. His defense is solid too, being able to protect the paint and grab rebounds quickly.

Heide is another Wildcat who operates in a smaller role but has that game-changing ability to dominate one aspect of the game and create a distinct advantage for his team. His play around the rim forces defenses to be in sync, whether it’s pick and rolls, or helping the helper, his presence for dump-offs and alley-oops can score his team some important, easy buckets.

We didn’t get to see a ton of Heide in action last season, but what we’ve seen this season has been enough to warrant a big bump in the rankings for the Mount Si post. He’s got some legit size at 6-foot-10, has a decent frame and strength, and has shown he can be a big force around the paint on both ends. He has been doing all you ask from a true big man, setting hard screens, rim running in transition, attacking the glass on both ends, getting big in the middle defensively, and playing strong through each phase of the game.

Heide is another kid I haven’t seen a ton of but he has the size and the name pedigree to warrant a look. He also will be part of a Mount Si team that lost four key guys off of last year’s squad, and he could carve out a role in their frontcourt. He’s already a strong rebounder, shows good agility for a big to work around boxouts and fight on the glass, and can be a solid rim defender. He’s a guy I wouldn’t expect to be on the watch list for long as we get to see more of him during the upcoming season.
