About Lamel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would consider myself currently a play maker, scorer, and defense intensive player. Who doesn't mind doing the dirty work. With the goal to develop into an effective two-way player scorer. I am vocal on the floor and on the bench and I bring passion to my team. I have no problem understanding plays and schemes and engaging other teammates to be on the same page.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel that I am a easy going and poised student athlete. I recover quickly and don't let things get to me. I believe in respecting others and trusting the process. I believe in treating others how you would like to be treated. I am a hard worker and I don't mind helping others.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Honor roll; Student of the month

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have recognized that I possess leadership qualities through my ability of working hard and in the classroom and on the court. I have identified that I have good communication skills by recognizing sometimes I am the player that communicates on the court on offense and defense.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had to change schools due to moving. Going to a new school leaving friends that I grew up with. Getting to know new team mates and a new coach. It didn't take me long to fit in through the skills I mentioned above. I worked hard during tryouts and practice and obtained a starting role on varsity as the center and the power forward. We won District title and made it to State WIAA 2A

What type of college are you looking for?

One that has a good academic program with a focus on business. I am also looking for a good basketball athletic program that offers room for development. A college where safety is a priority and nutrition and mental health are a focus for student athletes. In addition a campus with a healthy and empowering social environment.
