Kyrie put on a show at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase. His handle and herky-jerky play style were super fun to watch. He handled the ball with precision and changed directions with aggressive crossovers at high speeds. He was an elite midrange scorer at this event. He was great at getting to his spots, rising into his shot, and scoring over defenders. He was able to stop and start effortlessly. And that, combined with his quick spin moves, made his midrange shot even more deadly. He got to the rim at a very high rate and drew a bunch of fouls, while showcasing his soft touch and contact balance around the cup. The floater was another weapon in his repertoire. And he parlayed this ability into step-through buckets off two feet, where he flashed impressive balance and touch with both hands.
