About Koleson
Expert Analysis

Evans had 14 points on 4-8 shooting (2-5 3P, 4-6 FT) and 12 rebounds in the Hawkeyes loss to a very good Western Christian team. A 6-6 combo forward, he has the ability to score both inside and out, showing a smooth stroke from the arc with a quick release off the catch. He moves really well without the ball in his hands, finding open spaces in the defense to get this shot off, and his release is high, which when coupled with his size, makes it difficult for opponents to contest his shot. He also has good footwork and touch on post touches, and is the type of player that the offense can flow through when he’s touching the ball anywhere below the free-throw line. He has the look of an ideal small-college forward with his ability to stretch the floor, defend a few different positions, and control the glass on both ends.

West Harrison has a trio of players on this list, but Koleson is the top prospect of the group because of his combination of size and skill. At 6-6, he handles the ball well and has a pure stroke from the arc. He shot just 30% from deep as a junior, but that number was 45% as a sophomore. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle of those two numbers, and when you combine that with his playmaking, rebounding, defensive versatility, and size, you have an intriguing young prospect.
