Sanderson’s first quarter in the semifinals against West Harrison was one of the best performances in state tournament history, dropping 24 points on some ridiculous shotmaking. While his stats in the championship game against North Linn weren’t quite as dynamic, it was his ball-handling and ability to create shots late in the shot clock that kept the Lynx at bay and helped lead the Thunder to the state title.

One of the best rebounders in the state all year, Evans showed exactly why he’s so dominant in the Hawkeyes’ quarterfinal destruction of Dunkerton, going for 11 points and 21 rebounds. He’s a tough, physical player with a non-stop motor, and his ability to control the glass made the Hawkeyes dangerous.

The 6-5 big man was excellent for the Hawks in both of their games, going for 17 points and 16 rebounds in the quarterfinals, and 12 points and 11 rebounds in the semifinals. He has excellent hands, soft touch around the rim, and does a great job using his physical frame to control the painted area on the defensive end as well.

Stats: 14.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals, 16-41 FG (39.0%), 11-16 FT (68.9%)
While Haughenbury had a rough championship game shooting it (5-19), he was fantastic in the quarterfinals, going for 25 points against Madrid, and he still put up a double-double in the title game loss. He showed his much improved playmaking throughout the week, averaging four assists a game, which ranked second in the field.

While Tobiloba didn’t put up huge scoring numbers, his defensive presence has been huge for the last few years for the Thunder, and it was huge again in this title run, blocking four shots a game and altering several more. He was the primary reason that Haughenbury had such a tough time scoring in the championship.
