About King
Expert Analysis
Kyle Sandy | Prep Hoops Scout
Araujo continues building buzz as one of the more intriguing young two-way guards in Georgia. The wiry playmaker possesses length, creativity and confidence with the ball in his hands. King thrives creating offense off the dribble and consistently looks comfortable operating in pressure moments.
Offensively, Araujo shines with his ability to create separation. He’s slippery with the basketball, shaking defenders to reach his spots in the mid-range while also confidently pulling from deep. His handle remains smooth and controlled, allowing him to change pace and manipulate defenders in space. When King gets rolling offensively, he becomes difficult to contain because he scores from multiple levels.
What makes him especially intriguing is the long-term two-way upside. His wingspan immediately stands out defensively as he disrupts passing lanes and bothers ball handlers with his reach. Even without adding significant muscle yet, he already impacts the game defensively through activity and length.
As Araujo continues getting stronger physically, his ability to finish through contact downhill should improve dramatically. The framework is already there for a highly impactful guard. With his size, scoring instincts and defensive upside, it’s easy to understand why Division-I programs already monitor him closely.
