Keyshaun Tillery
About Keyshaun
Expert Analysis

Tillery ran the show quite confidently for New Hampton in their matchup against STM. He’s truly as solid as they come at the point guard position; he handles it so well and makes great decisions (very few turnovers), and he can score from all three levels. He’s most deadly going to the rack but can also punish defenders who go under screens. Defensively, Tillery did a really good job on

Tillery was a big time scorer in the last NEBL session I went to, but this weekend he also showcased some great facilitation and feel. He sees the floor at a very high level and is able to read the weak side of the defense even while being hounded on the ball and being undersized for the point guard position. It’s sometimes shocking how unselfish he is when he could seemingly penetrate the paint at will, especially when he’s so adept at getting defenders on his back. Defensively, Tillery can really slide his feet when he’s locked in; with lateral quickness like he has, the Cincinnati commit should be able to cause problems for guards at the next level on that end.

Cincinnati University fans will love watching his game. A tough player finishing through contact and getting knocked down. Great leader huddling the team up and communicating strategies to teammates. A scorer from ease anywhere on the floor and handles are off the charts. Dribbling in tight spaces and changing the pace of his tempo.

Tillery continues to produce, averaging 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists a game as New Hampton advanced to the Semifinals before ultimately losing to champion Western Reserve. The lead guard can really shoot it from beyond the arc and is strong enough that he handles contact well.

Another impressive guard, Tillery was making plays off the bounce and showing off his impressive athleticism. With his hangtime and body control in the air, Tillery had some tough finishes at the rim by avoiding shot blockers. A quick live dribble passer with either hand, Tillery was getting the ball to his teammates in a timely fashion. He also used his athletic gifts defensively to soar for blocked shots in transition and bothering opposing ball handlers. Tillery has added seven offers since May including Temple, Northwestern and Georgia Tech to name a few, a top guard from the northeast region of the country.
