Wilson Prep has been one of the top teams in the 1A East for the past couple of years and this year isn’t any different. Keontae Barron Keontae Barron 6'0" | CG Wilson Prep | 2025 State NC only leads the tigers in one category (3 steals per contest) but he is most likely to have a crazy scoring outburst on any given night. A few games back he had a ridiculous stat line in a conference game that included 40 points 7 steals with 11 made 3 pointers. 

Barron is a two-way guard prospect to get on college radars as Wilson Prep Academy looks to repeat once again as state champions. He’s producing 16.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals per game as they enter the bulk of TAR Roanoke Conference play with a 5-1 record and tied for second in the standings currently. He’s shooting 38 percent from deep and 52 percent from the field as the Tigers are 8-3 so far heading into the middle of January. Look for him to elevate things, especially on the defensive end of the floor to gain attention from college programs. He’s an athletic, strong-framed guard with an ability to effect the game in a number of ways on both ends of the floor.

Barron is another unsigned senior prospect to make note of with Wilson Prep Academy. He’s emerged as the leading scorer for the Tigers in 2024-25 with 17.9 points per game and 2.3 assists per contest in the backcourt. He’s also their top defender at 2.3 steals per game. He’s shown he can make quite the impression defensively, especially on the glass with 5.1 rebounds per game. He’s a prospect for DII/DIII/JUCO programs in the region to get on their radar as the Tigers look to win another state championship.
