Jr. left absolutely no doubt about what kind of standard he brings to the floor.
The Bonnabel High School guard put on an absolute clinic in competitive character, establishing himself as one of the most intriguing, high-octane prospects in Louisiana’s Class of 2028. There are players who read the temperature of a game, and then there are players who change it. Harper Jr. is firmly the latter. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, he operated with a super motor that simply didn’t switch off.
In a setting where heavy summer legs usually lead to lazy transition defense and settled jumpers, Harper Jr. played at maximum capacity on both ends of the court. His intensity was palpable, anchoring Bonnabel’s perimeter defense and making life miserable for opposing ballhandlers. When the Bruins needed a spark, it usually started with him diving for a loose ball, deflecting a pass, or turning a dead possession into a fast-break opportunity. He doesn’t just play hard; he plays with an edge that forces his teammates to match his wavelength. While his energy is infectious, it’s his functional toughness that rounds out his game. Despite playing on the perimeter, Harper Jr. routinely leaves his fingerprints all over the glass. He consistently out-worked bigger frontcourt players at the UNO camp, tracking long rebounds and flying in from the wing to secure crucial extra possessions. That relentless approach on the boards adds a completely separate dimension to Bonnabel’s transition attack—when Harper Jr. grabs the defensive board, he’s instantly pushing the pace himself, catching defenses completely flat-footed.
It is rare to see a young prospect understand the value of raw, unfiltered effort quite like Harper Jr. does. He isn’t waiting around for the game to come to him or tracking his status on a stat sheet; he is actively imposing his will on the matchup.
As Bonnabel continues to build out its identity, Harper Jr. has already cemented his role as the team’s vital tone setter and bona fide game changer. College scouts tracking the 2028 class who value defensive intensity, toughness, and an elite competitive motor are going to want to get their eyes on this kid sooner rather than later.

Every time Team OAM needed a bucket, Harper came through. His ability to shift the defense, get downhill, and finish at the rim was impressive. In a game that looked like it was going to get out of hand early, he locked in and made crucial shots that turned the contest into a highly competitive matchup.
